Children as Designers
Design phase: research and ideation
Goal: Learn about the child’s values through play, engagement, interaction, creation & manipulation.
Activity: Let children create, craft and build prototypes for the problem/context you’re designing for. Next let them play and act-out the problem and solution scenario.
Relation to theme ‘Nurturing the child as a social being and a citizen’:
Have the children interact with each other’s prototypes, switch roles in acting-out to trigger empathy and reflection.
