METHODS & PRACTICES
Prototype test sessions with children
We should test to see and learn from real life use, so think about the environment/context what you are testing in and how that can influence the results. This could involve siblings, parents, friends etc. Children know what they need, let them show it rather than telling it. Make an effort to create a relaxed setting. Inform them about the process before, during and after and strive to have a transparent communication with children as well as their care takers.
Matching the appropriate testing method & prototype with the research questions/design goal:
- Usability testing
- Concept testing
- Play testing
- Learning assesment
- Keep ergonomics in mind, consider about kids’ height, metal development in consideration.
